What is Immunotherapy?

Commonly referred to as allergy shots, immunotherapy is a treatment option for individuals who have allergic rhinitis, eczema or allergic asthma triggered by pollen, mold, dust mite or pet dander, as well as venom (insect sting) allergies.

Immunotherapy (allergy injections) is the process of introducing small amounts of the allergens to which one is allergic and progressively increasing the doses to lessen an individual’s allergic response. Allergy injections have been used for over 100 years and are an FDA-approved therapy.

In a Rush? Do RUSH!

Accelerated or RUSH immunotherapy is where allergy shots are given in an accelerated fashion.

What is the Advantage of RUSH Immunotherapy?

While regular immunotherapy takes 3 1/2 months to get to maintenance, RUSH immunotherapy takes a shorter time (about 4-5 weeks) to achieve maintenance. There will be a faster improvement in the allergy symptoms. Ask your healthcare provider or contact our office for more details.
